about
Hi! My name is Edison. I have always been a curious individual, and being a designer in the tech industry feels like being both a scientist and an artist. Understanding how users interact with digital products fuels my curiosity, while creating designs to solve real-life problems fuels my passion. Over the past few years, I’ve gained valuable insights from the companies and people I’ve worked with. Each experience has helped me master skills that shape who I am today as a designer.
Being immersed in art school at a young age trained my eye for design visuals and wireframe sketching.
University studies in marketing taught me the importance of research and metrics to validate results—skills I still apply in user research. Fine arts strengthened my knowledge of color theory and composition, preparing me for user interface design.
Retail experience gave me confidence in speaking with people and being assertive—skills I now use when conducting interviews.
As a financial advisor, I learned to understand users’ needs through active listening and developed critical and analytical thinking skills to find the best solutions.
Returning to school for UX design expanded my understanding of user-centric design, and learning to code has enhanced my ability to tackle problems logically.
Though my formal education is complete, II’m always learning something new. I love finding fresh ideas and solutions, and help guide new designers along the way.
design motto
"Design is content with intent. Content without intent is noise. Intent without content is decoration." By Joe S.
This perfectly sums up what meaningful design should be. “Design is content with intent” means that every design choice should have a purpose and communicate something specific. “Content without intent is noise” is a reminder that information, if not thoughtfully presented, can easily become overwhelming or confusing. And “Intent without content is decoration” highlights that aesthetics alone aren’t enough; without substance, design is just decoration. This philosophy inspires me to create work that’s both visually engaging and truly purposeful.
Let's connect
I’m always fond of connecting with other designers across various industries. There’s always so much to learn.
